Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Salary: £48,997 to £60,115 plus a Location allowance of £1,639. You will receive £48,997 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £60,115 will be via incremental progression.
Location: New Scotland Yard, however you will work from across the Met estate as appropriate. There will also be opportunities for regular home-working.
Contract: 24 Month Fixed Term Contract

In MO11 we provide a range of services to the Met, including providing Fleet, Vehicle Recovery, Catering, Travel, Cultural Services, Uniform, Exhibit Management, Records Management and Local support to officers. Whilst these services are quite different in what they deliver, the desired outcomes of delighting our customers, improving performance, delivering innovative services that are value for money and supporting and developing our people are the same.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will work closely with Marie Heracleous, Director of Operational Support Service to implement her vision and new ways of working across the function. You will draw from your project management skills and past experience in a change environment to develop and drive the roadmap for implementing the change; managing the key milestones, deliverables and resources required.
This is also a hands-on delivery role where you will use your project management, change and leadership experience to take ownership of and deliver on agreed elements of the programme; for example recruitment and onboarding.
To be successful in the role you will be an experienced project or change manager confident working in ambiguous and fast-paced environments. You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to build effective and positive working relationships quickly with a range of stakeholders. You will have a track record of driving delivery, responding confidently to challenges and able to break down barriers.
Key Responsibilities
Champion and implement effective project delivery for a high priority change programme within Operational Support Services (OSS);
Manage communication and engagement with project stakeholders, developing and maintaining relationships and working in partnership to resolve problems within defined project boundariesProvide overall direction and leadership to identified resources within the team to deliver the change programme successfullyManage project team resources, ensuring they are tasked effectively to deliver defined outcomesSpecific Project Management Competencies
Able to lead a complex change project, including set-up, management and delivery, ensuring that the project delivers to time, cost and quality and meets all HR processes, standards and reporting requirementsCreate detailed end-to-end process maps and workflows which are required to deliver the agreed model.Describe the actions, processes, and other technical conditions that the project needs to meet and to describe any condition or criteria to validate the successful completion of a deliverableCo-ordinate SME input and capture all requirements.Test the requirements to gain clarity on whether or not they are feasible in terms of time, quality, resources, and budgetReporting to all stakeholders and sponsors to provide a regular and timely update on the project’s status in terms of time, budget, scope, and benefitsManage the logistics for socialisation and piloting the new performance approach i.e. workshops, interviews, meetingsCo-ordinate the project, project governance and its interdependencies, working closely with OSS Senior Leadership team and key stakeholdersGeneral Project Management Competencies

Manage and review the performance of the 3rd parties based on agreed contractual SLAs and performance measures. Utilising the MPS Governance model to ensure continuous improvement, innovation and best in class benchmarking consistently delivers improvements to the quality and value of service delivery. Drive cultural awareness within the Vendor’s organisation, to better align values, core behaviours and service deliverables.
