The Senior Project Support Officer will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure that the project delivery is on track and that key milestones and targets are achieved across the whole of the Programme within time and resource constraints. Working with colleagues and external partners, you will have a key role in ensuring reporting standards are met or in establishing processes where required. You will use project management methodologies and techniques to maintain a clear view of risks and issues, programme metrics, delivery progress, finances and other key areas.
Occasional travel may be required e.g. for workshops, meetings and training.
Key tasks/principal accountabilities.Appling project management skills in developing and maintaining tools and reporting processes, supporting the Programme Manager. Ensuring that stakeholder responsibilities and needs are understood and addressed through reporting arrangements. Develop peer networks.Monitoring and analysing information, reporting progress, slippage and highlighting areas of risk and opportunity.Managing the reporting of risks and issues and maintaining risk, issues and assumptions database for the project. Providing expert advice to the Programme Manager and senior leaders on risk and issues management.Work collaboratively with the wider Programme Team and partners to ensure risks, changes, opportunities, and financial issues are spotted and appropriate actions are taken.Provide support and secretariat as needed for Programme Governance and meetings, including the Steering Groups and Programme Board.Takes responsibility for record systems and their management, and to provide support in meeting the reporting requirements for the Programme as a whole with particular attention to the Natural England workstreams.
