Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Warrington

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Projects Division, which primarily focused on Engineering, Gas and Fabrication. The purpose of this role is to provide the business heads along with the commercial director with complete and accurate cost control data on a regular basis.

Applicants for the role should have extensive experience in engineering and/or fabrication and/or within a construction company environment in the Petrochemical or Gas sector, dealing with EPC’s. Particular experience of being involved in finance, costs and contract controls of engineering design, procurement of materials, equipment and other services, including fabrication, delivery and site implementation and construction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Familiarity with operating NEC contracts, main options and key clauses is essential Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of all work completed within each accounting period, ensuring that for each job, costs & revenues are summarised by job Issue project cost reports in accordance with the requirements of the Project Manager, including client reports, cash flows forecast, margin forecast and analysis, manpower projections plans Monthly assessment of work in progress/accruals & completion of account profit & loss position Work closely with the Commercial Director and the Regional Directors/Project Managers to develop robust rolling monthly P&L forecasts Support the Project Manager with change control and Purchase order adjustments by proactively identifying variations to scope and deviations to the execution strategy in order to optimise margins Developing robust reports, which clearly demonstrate productivity/efficiencies and cost to complete Ensure all commercial systems, procedures and support tools within our BMS are applied at all times Work closely with Planning Engineers & Estimation to understand the basis of estimates, which will allow scope change to be clearly understood, whilst also ensuring that best practice is applied at all time Develop lessons learned on each project completion

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Financial & Commercial experience with projects and/or term contracts Experience in dealing with operational and project teams Over 10 Years of Commercial Training/exposure NEC Option A & E A background in Gas Projects and NEC (ECC) experience is critical ONC / HNC / HND in a discipline relating to engineering, contract, quantity surveying or financial management Experience with SAP is desirable ACostE or MACostE High-level understanding of mathematics Excel – expert level is desirable MS-Access Powerpoint
