About the Role:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join the Technical Team at the University of Sunderland. As a Sport Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate students within state-of-the-art Sport and Exercise Science laboratories. This role is a 12-month maternity cover position, operating on a 4-day per week schedule. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratories, working both independently and collaboratively within a supportive technical team.

  • Health and Safety Expertise: A solid grasp of relevant Health and Safety legislation and the ability to conduct risk assessments are paramount to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff within the laboratory environment.
  • Customer Service Focus: A proactive and helpful approach to supporting students and academic staff is a key requirement for this role.
  • Contract Duration: Please note that this is a 12-month maternity cover position. While this offers a defined period to gain valuable experience, candidates should consider their long-term career aspirations.
