We are looking for an experienced Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Our service supports people as individuals to maintain a tenancy and build life skills, promoting respect, independence and self determination. We focus on peoples strengths, abilities and dreams for the future.
Anglesea Road and Berners Street is a purpose built hostel offering a mix of flats and rooms to vulnerable young and adults. Our service supports people as individuals, to maintain a tenancy and build life skills, promoting respect, independence and self determination. We focus on people’s strengths, abilities and dreams for the future.
We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Support Assistant will include:
Providing a high quality, hands-on support service Supporting our clients to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives Encouraging residents to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being a part of their community Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices Developing good relationships with clients, helping them develop life skills Some health and safety responsibilities e.g. fire safety checks
Skills and experiences:
A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude Experience in support planning, key working, risk assessment and safeguarding Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Mathematics, is essential NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
