This is an exciting opportunity to be in the heart of managing and maintaining our flood and coastal risk assets. We are looking for people with transferable skills who are keen to make a difference to the environment and people in the South West. We welcome applicants who are looking to learn more about Asset Management and Operations. The successful applicant will be an integral member of our Strategy and Support team. You will work alongside three other Support Assistants and will be provided with all the training, help and support you require.Good communication skills are vital as you will be interacting with internal teams and customers. You will be a team player who is happy to use their initiative working autonomously but equally happy taking direction and providing support. Excellent computer, data and mapping skills would be an advantage, along with a willingness to learn new computer systems and IT. Typical duties include providing flood risk reports, using asset databases and spreadsheets, responding to enquiries from teams/customers, data entry, improvement & management, providing administrative support to senior team members, setting up meetings and minute taking and providing financial support. You will bring energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. The types of skills and experience we are looking for includes: - an interest in flood and coastal risk management or asset management;- excellent IT/data skills;- the ability to pick up new processes and IT systems;- proficient in the use of MS Office and Teams;- sound written and verbal skills - able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences;- well organised with attention to detail;- planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information to ensure tasks are completed on time and to a high standard;- self-motivated, working well as part of a team and by yourself;- experience of using GIS or a willingness to learn;- managing many priorities and different demands;- commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to addressing the climate and ecological emergency through your work.
