Technical Manager Audio Visual Unit

Use your expertise in digital forensics to make a positive difference to the lives of victims and bring offenders to justice. We have an exciting, new opportunity for a Digital Forensics Unit Technical Manager to join our forward thinking and innovative Digital Hub, on a full time, permanent basis.Working alongside two Technical Managers, each with their own area of specialism, you will oversee the processing and management of audio-visual forensics, including electronic storage devices and CCTV.Delivering an efficient and high-quality digital service to the force, the community and the Criminal Justice System, you will be responsible for preparing and creating audio visual evidence that can be presented in court, such as CCTV compilations and body mapping images, supporting the prosecution of offenders. In adherence to ISO17025 standards and the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes of Conduct, you’ll develop methods and processes that cover all technical aspects and quality of laboratory activities for digital forensics, always looking for ways that processes and procedures can be improved. As the Digital Forensics Unit Technical Manager, you will ensure adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) and play an integral part of achieving UKAS accreditation for your area. An in-depth knowledge and experience of International Standards and relevant guidance material such as BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and the Forensic Science Regulators Codes of Practice is therefore essential. Working as part of a small team, including three Analysts, you will also support staff development, ensuring that relevant training is delivered, and competency levels of staff are maintained.
