WHAT TO EXPECT

A central role to Jaguar Land Rover’s future, enabling the refinement of our future BEV propulsion systems through providing technical knowledge, design support and guidance, issue resolution validation and the development of our IP (Body of Knowledge) – all of which must be delivered using an agile mindset and programme delivery. The technical specialist is also expected to play a part in the development of Jaguar Land Rover’s staff through mentoring, writing and delivering training material.

As part of the Technical Specialist community, you will be a functional resource for the company. This role includes developing the future company strategy for processes, components and systems ultimate refinement.

You will be a custodian of elements of our key technology for current and future products.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

You will develop a business aligned vision for technical delivery of the attribute or technology. Use technical leadership to drive function, quality, cost or timing improvements on programmes

To define and protect the core body of knowledge of the EDU performance and efficiency with technical sign off of the systems at each gateway.

You will lead / support (exact requirement will be determined between the TS and the Chapter Lead) role for developing new technologies and new applications of current technologies. Have a thorough understanding of both internal and external customer attribute and technology requirements.

Support task force activities to solve complex engineering problems whilst considering legislative requirements and ensure compatibility. In addition you will be expected to teach, mentor and present internally and at world class conferences.

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in all areas of EP EDU Performance & Efficiency but specialising in system interactions and optimisation – this must include competitor’s intelligence, optimisation and design for Performance & Efficiency, testing for Performance & Efficiency and in-vehicle strategies.

Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies and tools.

Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders using presentation or other tools as required.

Degree or relevant equivalent experience.

Expert in the area of Powertrain Performance & Efficiency – focusing on BEV (EDUs, Inverters, emachines, transmissions, thermal management for EDUs)

Detail knowledge of how to optimise a powerunit calibration for Performance & Efficiency

Expert problem-solving skills.
