We have an exciting opportunity to join #TeamEMR as a Train Planning Assistant on a fixed term basis until 4 July 2024. Reporting to the Amended Services Team Leader, the Train Planning Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Amended Access (STP) team in delivering timetable and resource planning and production in line with internal process and industry timescales.
The Train Planning Assistant will also:
The automated and manual checking of accuracy of information received from Network Rail and EMR timetables, operational diagrams and other documents to ensure they match.Maintain and update the weekly engineering work information and distribute to internal recipients.Check bus and taxi orders for completeness and accuracy.Update Station and Depot documentation (e.g. Platform and Stock Simplifiers).Collate and issue Traincrew Diagrams to weekly distribution list.Continuously check permanent timetable databases to ensure they are correct to the minute with details including Platforms.Produce Weekly Engineering Circulars to ensure correct information is fed downstream to industry journey planners (such as National Rail Enquiries).Liaise with Network Rail and other operators as necessary to optimise timetable plans.Support the LTP and Timetable Information teams during the course of each calendar year to address peaks and troughs in the overall workload of the team.*Interviews for this position will take place on 1 + 2 March 2023*
About you:
You will be a motivated team player with a flexible and supportive approach to your work. You will possess excellent attention to detail with the ability to work to tight timescales in a sometimes-pressurised environment. You will have the ability to process and resolve complex issues using a range of approaches & techniques. You will also have strong communication skills and the desire to build excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Some knowledge of rail operations and EMR's network geography will be highly beneficial in this role. It would also be preferential to have strong IT skills that will enable you to learn internal systems such as Voyagerplan, TRUST and other train planning systems.
