Actuarial Associate, Aviva

Actuarial Associate - Salary of Circa £30,000 Location - York or Bristol Contract - 9 months Do you enjoy problem solving? Do you want to fix and rectify issues to benefit our customers? We’re looking for someone with an actuarial skill set, who is passionate about doing the right thing for the customer. The role will be suitable for someone with a proactive attitude, who can effectively take ownership of tasks and who works well as part of a team. This role will see you working alongside members of the Wealth Customer & Product Actuarial team, performing calculations to enable customers to receive redress due from risk events. You will be responsible for creating solutions to accurately calculate the financial impact of the risk event on customers. Other aspects of the role include investigating potential issues and ensuring appropriate controls are applied, to mitigate the risk of modelling errors. Please note - This role is a 9 month, fixed term contract with the potential for longer. Key skills required for this role are: Strong numerical skills, the ability to analyse data and an awareness of actuarial techniques. Good Excel skills, including experience of VBA or the willingness to develop in this area. Knowledge of life insurance and or Pensions products - Desirable, not essential Strong communication skills, and an ability to work with people effectively.
