This role works across the Undergraduate Admissions and Campus Events Teams in our Student Recruitment & Admissions Directorate. In this highly collaborative role, you will have a great opportunity in both teams to support our next generation of students.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to ensure a positive applicant experience, and to work effectively across both teams. You will coordinate enquiries from a range of stakeholders including prospective applicants, parents and advisors.
You will
develop specialist knowledge of the University, the applicant journey and higher education opportunities.support admissions selection activities including fee status assessments. act as the operational lead to support students requiring a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work as a Student Ambassador or where required for their course.develop expert knowledge of DBS requirements, process and liaise effectively with other departments in the University to ensure that all students hold a valid DBS check where required. support the planning and delivery of a wide range of campus events aimed at prospective applicants.This will include assessing applications for outreach programmes, managing event responses and analysing data to contribute to evaluation and impact reports. You will also support the recruitment of Student Ambassadors and supervise their work.
The Undergraduate Admissions Team and Campus Events Teams are part of our large and diverse Student Recruitment & Admissions department, which includes also student recruitment, outreach, widening access, learning partnership and postgraduate teams. You will join a large group of colleagues with diverse roles and interests, with opportunities to develop understanding and experience across the wider department.
With a background in administration and customer service, you will enjoy working in a dynamic environment where a high level of accuracy is key. You will also have:
a high standard of IT and administrative skills including the use of email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc) excellent attention to detail effective communication skills, to adapt to supporting applicants, parents/guardians, academic staff, external organisations, or other members of the team experience of working in a customer-focused environment the ability to work effectively in a team and independently, including managing your workload according to the team’s prioritiesThis is a full time, permanent position working 36.5 hours per week.
As with all members of our Undergraduate Admissions Team, a small amount of weekend working is required in June - September to support university open days and key results periods in August. The ability to take annual leave during August may also be limited.
