The Royal College of Art is seeking an Advancement & Alumni Relations Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director and the wider Advancement & Alumni Relations team.
About the Role
Advancement & Alumni Relations is a small team, comprising 12 dedicated professionals, is responsible for philanthropic income generation through the successful GenerationRCA campaign and maintaining strong relationships with over 26,000 alumni. As part of a small postgraduate university the successful candidate will thrive in a close-knit, highly collaborative environment where teamwork, initiative, and adaptability are key. Although we are small, we are mighty as we have again been ranked the number one university for art and design for a consecutive eleventh year (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025).
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Director and team.First Point of Contact: Manage general enquiries, liaising with council members, distinguished alumni, and donors with professionalism and discretion.Diary & Meeting Management: Schedule and prioritise meetings, ensuring senior staff are well-prepared with accurate information.Event Coordination: Assist in planning and delivering events for Advancement & Alumni and the wider College.Travel Arrangements: Organise international itineraries for the Director and senior academic staff.Data Management: Maintain accurate records using the College’s CRM (Raiser’s Edge).Financial Administration: Process invoices, raise purchase orders, and monitor departmental budgets using Unit 4 Agresso.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance administrative processes and efficiency.About You:
Proven experience in administrative support roles, ideally within an academic, philanthropic, marketing, communications, or alumni relations setting.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of work independently.Strong interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with senior stakeholders and external partners with professionalism.Meticulous attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred).Willingness to work flexibly, supporting colleagues and adapting to new projects as needed.Why Join RCA?
