JOB DESCRIPTION

You will lead the development and implementation of automation proof of concept (PoC) projects, transitioning them from initial concept to the "application ready" stage.

Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to drive successful project outcomes and integrate automation solutions seamlessly into existing processes.

Additionally, you will mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will play a crucial role in overseeing the full lifecycle of automation projects, from initial concept through to deployment and optimisation, ensuring they are scalable and ready for full deployment.

You will:

• Develop and lead the execution of comprehensive automation strategies (ASRS, AGV/AMR, Robotics, AI)

• Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance automation capabilities

• Lead the development and implementation of automation Proof of Concept (PoC) projects, ensuring they are thoroughly tested and validated

• Transition PoC projects to "application ready" stage, ensuring they are scalable and ready for full deployment

• Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues that arise to ensure timely completion

• Lead training, coaching and mentoring initiatives to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the GME-Logistics team

• Support the development and maintenance of automation standards, ensuring they are well-documented and communicated

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

• Experience in developing and managing automation projects within a logistics or manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of automation technologies and best practices

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation and training materials

• Proficiency in using automation tools and software

• Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

• Strategic and analytical thinking with a problem-solving mindset
