Automation Technician

Base Location:Swindon, Oxford, Melksham or Andover

Salary: £41,583 - £48,286 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite

We arecurrently recruiting for an Automation technician to join our brilliant team.

As an Automation Technician you will be responsible for the installation/maintenance & daily fault repair of remotely controlled switchgear and associated equipment including all communications systems that support this within the electrical distribution up to 11kv.

You will:

Be responsible for installing and commissioning automation schemes. Monitor and supervise contractors throughout the Ridgeway region Fault find, repairand maintain automation defects on a daily basis, using multiply manufacturer equipment as well to assist with this. Maintain and install automation electrical equipment on the electricity network up to 11,000 volts, ensuring works are completed within specific time frames and the network is restored to normal operation as soon as possible. This will also include emergency response to fault scenarios. Safety is a key priority at SSE and throughout everything you do you will adhere to safety policies and procedures.

You have:

The ability to effectively manage your own work program. Be keen to learn and develop your role, having knowledge of the automation currently installed. Have SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5, and 7. Be motivated to work alone and within a team.

Training will be given for CAT 4E, CAT 7 and automation installations if required.
