About your team The Global Platform Solutions Legal Department helps to contribute to the growth of Fidelity by delivering effective, pro-active and business orientated legal services. The members of the team are located in the UK and India, with the UK offices being based in London and Surrey. The Legal Department supports the Global Platform Solutions business which comprises workplace investing and retail products (advised and non-advised). The workplace investing business provides investment and administration services trustees of UK pension schemes and to employers of multinational retirement/savings plans in relation to trust based schemes and provides pension products to employers through the Fidelity Master Trust, the Group Personal Pension Plan and the Stakeholder Pension Plan offerings. The funds provided for these schemes are both Fidelity funds and externally managed funds through FIL Life Insurance Limited. The retail business provides investment solutions to retail investors through its advised and non-advised platforms. The products offered include SIPP, ISAs, General Investment Accounts and stockbroking services. You will support the UK Global Platform Solutions (GPS) Business. About your role • To provide support with the day-to-day legal questions which arise within the UK GPS business and support the GPS business through change and the implementation of strategic initiatives. • Assisting with the drafting and negotiating of onboarding documentation, transitions agreements, third-party fund provider agreements, life policies and wide range of commercial agreements related to the UK GPS Business. • Working with other departments within the wider global legal relating to the delegation and overseeing of the negotiation of NDAs, DPAs, linking agreements and trademark agreements. • Review new laws and regulations and assess the impact on the GPS Business; advise on legal and regulatory environment; liaise with external counsel. • Support the GPS Legal team in liaising with other legal teams, company secretariat, compliance, risk and internal audit functions within the group working with these areas to ensure a joined-up and co-operative approach. About you • Minimum 5 years fully qualified commercially thinking lawyer with relevant experience of working in a law firm or a legal role within an international asset management organisation or life group or similar. • General understanding of the laws applicable to UK pensions and retail products. • Ability to advise on the challenging mix of different laws and regulations that will be relevant. • Familiarity with trust, tax and data protection law • Knowledge of corporate and general commercial law helpful. • Positive, pro-active attitude suited to being a team member within a dynamic business environment whilst operating with autonomy and accountability.. • Good drafting and other legal skills. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to instil confidence and to build strong relationships with stakeholders. • Project management and strong organisation skills. • Excellent attention to detail. • Strong delivery focus. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
