Are you looking to take the next step in your career, working in a specialist role within Citis primary CLO business. This team works closely alongside Credit Financing, ABS and Residential Securitisation within the wider Primary Spread Products business team in EMEA. This opportunity will focus on the legal structuring, negotiation of legal contracts, transaction execution and management, and other aspects in relation to the structuring of securitization and warehouse transactions across EMEA, with a particular focus on European CLOs.
The role will provide a wide range of deal-making experiences related to European CLOs, RMBS, Credit Financing, ABS securitization and warehouse transactions. The role will also provide a high level of exposure to strategic global players in the industry and leading European and American law firms and will involve direct negotiation with Citis clients and counterparties.
Given the focus, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will likely be working in the banking team of an international law firm, with a particular specialization and proven track record in structuring and negotiating CLO transactions.
What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:
In-Business seat and role, within the Business team (with direct reporting into the Business team and a senior Transaction Execution specialist) not internal legal.
Assist senior and junior transactors in document/opinion negotiation.
Assist in the review of legal and structuring advice and due diligence.
Assist with the preparation of credit memos and presentation of legal and structural aspects to credit committee.
Assist in discussions with client counterparts and advisers
Assisting with the drafting of short and long form term sheets
Interface with internal Legal team and other internal stakeholders regarding business related legal risks
Involvement in other ad hoc workstreams
What we will need from you:
Experience in the structuring and negotiating of CLO transactions, from working on European structured credit transactions.
Strong computing and numeracy skills, alongside strong interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills.
Self-motivated and a strong work ethic.
Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines, as well as manage stressful situations and heated discussions in a calm, professional, diplomatic and focused manner.
You will be able to build internal and external relationships, demonstrate a commercial awareness with a high level of integrity and professionalism
Being able to independently time manage, plan and organise your workload is key to being successful in this role.
