Job Description Capability Lead – Nuclear Product Training Team (Secondment 18 Months) - Submarines Full-time (18 month secondment) Derby Hybrid – minimum 3 days in office/week What you will be doing A unique full-time 18 month secondment opportunity for a Capability Lead has arisen in the Nuclear Product Training Team within the E&T function. In this role you will have the opportunity to make a big difference by helping to further develop and implement the team future strategy. A high-level strategy was endorsed by the RRSL Executive team in 2024 and an end of year milestone has been agreed for 2025 to drive transformational change. In this role you will report directly into the Capability Manager, Fiona Barton, and will work alongside the Nuclear Product Training Team whilst interfacing with a range of teams across the business. This is an exciting time to be part of the team as we not only look to implement a number of transformational improvements to training development and delivery but also expand the reach of the team across the Submarines Enterprise and further afield to the Australian Submarine Agency. This role supports the RRSL Business Strategy in helping to safeguard our capabilities by sustaining skills and knowledge, to transform our business through digital innovation and to help enable the AUKUS programme. Responsibilities Take ownership of the Nuclear Product Training Strategy Scope, define, plan and cost identified improvements pulling on support from the appropriate business units and functions where required e.g. IT and Digital, Infrastructure, Security, HR, Commercial, Finance Scope, define, plan and cost new business opportunities progressing through the Sales, Bidding and Contracts process (where applicable) Present robust resource/funding requests and justifications at a variety of decision making forums across the business Produce and maintain an overarching P6 plan for the strategy development and implementation Lead and deliver improvements including the development of a prototype demonstrator.
