Job at Recovery Focus in Penrith, Cumbria, CA11

£12.00 per hour Penrith, Cumbria You’re caring, flexible and creative, thrive under pressure, know how to connect with people at all levels and really enjoy helping others to live as independently as possible. You’d also like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with. Abbots Bank is a 6-bed shared living service registered with CQC. The service is staffed 24 hours per day with waking night cover. We also provide support to people in their own homes throughout the Eden area. We support adults with mental health difficulties to live a life that is meaningful to them. We look at coping strategies and find practical solutions to aid in their recovery. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine. No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team and willing to pick up shifts at short notice. This is a casual position and you should be able to cover day, evening, weekend and waking night shifts at short notice to cover annual leave and sickness. You should also hold a full driving licence and have access to a car due to the rural nature of our service users. We are committed to increasing our diversity and welcome applications from those with Lived Experience. This is a rolling recruitment process. Candidates will be interviewed as and when they are shortlisted. To apply, please send a CV and covering letter explaining why you feel you are right for the role. Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support. We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people. Bringing together two big organisations is not a small task and it’ll take a while to fully integrate our systems, processes and approaches. That why you will notice the jobs here are still branded ‘Richmond Fellowship’ or ‘Aquarius’ (our subsidiary charity in the Midlands). Next year we’ll be fully integrating our recruitment systems but for now they are separate. Thanks for bearing with us – and don’t forget to check out the Waythrough jobs on the Humankind job site https://peoplekind.my.salesforce-sites.com/recruit/ Aquarius Aquarius is a subsidiary of Waythrough. Aquarius is a Midlands-based charity supporting individuals to overcome the harms caused by drugs, alcohol and gambling. Aquarius has always held the view that people we support could resolve their problems with support and guidance and that people have the ability to find their own solutions to their problems. Our roles across the organisation include Practitioners and Administrators as well as Team Managers. Find out more at www.aquarius.org.uk
