Aon Reinsurance Solution are hiring for an expert Catastrophe Analyst to join their Japan team based in London.
Candidates need to have proven experience in reinsurance catastrophe risk assessment, modelling and analytics. The successful candidate will be ready to take the next step in their career development.

The role comprises quantitative cat risk analytics for our clients as well advising on view of risk and supporting clients risk management activities including reinsurance optimisation and placement.
Catastrophe modelling access for analyst at Aon Re includes all major platforms available in the reinsurance market, e.g. RMS and Verisk amongst othersAnalysts will also be working with Aon’s own extensive proprietary cat platform, including;Impact Forecasting catastrophe models and development teamImpactonDemand and Property Analyser portfolio management toolsAon Remetrica as the market leading Dynamic Financial Analysis platformMentoring and advising a small team of [junior] cat analysts will also feature in the role. There will also be worldwide business travel opportunities and access to continuous professional development and learning.
The role means working closely our extensive client base across P&C Insurance and Reinsurance including Global, Regional European, Asian and Japanese clients. These companies are amongst the largest and most sophisticated managers of catastrophe risk and buyers of reinsurance in the World.
Beyond clients, the role entails working closely with;
Reinsurance Markets Worldwideincluding UK-London, Bermuda, US, Continental Europe, Singapore and JapanAnalytics, Broking and Account Management colleagues at Aonboth within the Japan team as well as the wider businessAon Analytics colleagues working in Cat Research, Model Evaluation and Actuarial disciplinessupport clients develop View of Risk and managing underwritten catastrophe riskAs an already experienced Catastrophe Modeller / Analyst your skills and qualifications will include:
Appropriate Bachelors degree level qualification in appropriate subjectWorking knowledge of RMS and / or Verisk modelling platformsSkills handing and manipulated large data sets in database software, e.g. SQLAny programming language skills would be helpful, e.g. VBAAny GIS experience, including use of GIS software, would be helpful, e.g. MapInfo, ArcGIS,In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
