Applications are invited for the role of Clinical Research Fellow in Imaging and Brain Cancer, based in the Magnetic Resonance and Precision Imaging (MR&PI) Theme of the Nottingham NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (NBRC), Queen’s Medical Centre, University of Nottingham.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the MR&PI team led by Professor Dorothee Auer (NBRC MR&PI theme lead), Professor Robert Dineen (deputy lead) and Clinical Associate Professor, Dr Steffi Thust. The MR&PI team undertake research into discovery and translation of new imaging tools to transform non-invasive diagnosis, improve the outcomes for patients, and better evaluate the success of medical interventions across a broad range of disease areas.

We are seeking a highly motivated post-foundation medically-qualified researcher to join MR&PI team to develop their research portfolio and support delivery of our key objectives. Priority areas of research that are available for you to work in include experimental medicine MRI, AI-radiomics, neuro-oncology, dual-energy CT and imaging-guided neuromodulation. This post is particularly focused on imaging in brain cancer with funding support from the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Programme.  

The NBRC is a partnership between Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Nottingham funded by National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week but open to part-time), fixed-term appointment for 12 months, commencing from 01 October 2025. Job share arrangements may be considered. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
