JOB TITLE Contracts Manager LOCATION Port Sunlight WORK-LEVEL 2A JOB PURPOSE As part of the Employee Technology team, a Contracts Manager is required as a critical part of the team. The Employee Technology team provides services, tools and technology across the Unilever business, as a result there are multiple global and local contracts that require dedicated in house expertise to manage alongside VMO and procurement. This role will be the pivotal role across Employee Technology, working across the entire team to ensure visibility and good decision making in contract management. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead end to end contract management and delivery of contract renewals within Employee Technology globally. Use your experience to identify opportunities to drive contract efficiencies and make proposals to consolidate and rationalise vendors and contracts, whilst driving contract related savings. Advise the Employee Technology LT on contract dependencies across the team, challenge the LT on ‘must do’ verses ‘nice to have’, and drive good vendor and contract decision making. Actively lead contract negotiations across the Employee tech team where it falls beneath the threshold for Procurement to lead (less than 3mil). This includes market mobile, print and device contracts. Support and guide the team in Procurement lead contract negotiations. Global contracts above 3mil. Provide leadership visibility and governance of all Employee Technology contracts to enable decision making. Work with the respective product owners and VMO to manage Vendors against expected performance measures. Track and monitor renewal dates of all global and local contracts. Lead the Employee Technology team through procurement and VMO processes, incl. CPM, contracts4U, RFP/RFI. Lead cost benchmarking across the team to ensure competitive pricing across all contracts and services. ALL ABOUT YOU Relevant experience of contract management within a complex global environment A good understanding of procurement processes (incl. CPM/contracts4U etc) and lead those activities across the Employee Technology Leadership Team The ability to work with key vendors and internal team to influence appropriately Experience of working with difficult timelines to achieve the appropriate outcome Ability to deal with challenging stakeholders and have adopted methods to gain an agreed outcome. Confident influencing style and communication skills, being able to make an impact with various diverse teams and ability to manage upwards. Strong delivery focus. Attention to detail and the ability to identify key points from information. Demonstrates the ability to make and take responsibility for sounds decisions. Significant self-motivation and focus to achieve the objectives of the role. Knowledge of Employee Technology tools and technology landscape Experience of working with a diverse team Previous experience of working with Procurement and VMO teams Contracts Management – Understand and implement core procurement processes and guidelines within all contracts. Be able to identify efficiencies across contracts. Effective Communication – The ability to convey information to other effectively and efficiently, keeping the message clear, correct, prescise, reliable and delivering it with courtesy and consideration for the recipient. Being able to make an impact with various stakeholders and vendors. Vendor Management – Has the ability to appropriately manage a vendor relationship that enables maintenance and optimization of the relationship. Influencing – The ability to bring people round to your way of thinking, without force or coercion whilst acknowledging others opinions. Having the emotional intelliegence to gauge how people might react and alter communication accordingly, building good working relationships and inspiring trust and confidence Agility – The ability to know what to do when you don’t know what to do. Prioritises work on value to customer. Understands how to use agile principles within their own workspace.
