As a Data Scientist on this team, you will be instrumental in managing changes to Front Office CDEs, aligning them with regulatory interpretations and robust Model Governance frameworks. This involves a critical responsibility for supporting the review, prioritization, and approval of all FO CDE changes, including all senior reporting and escalations. You will be at the forefront of ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data that underpins crucial capital initiatives and risk management within Counterparty Trading & Risk (CTR) and the XVA trading desk.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Strategic Impact: Directly influence business operations by ensuring the quality and compliance of critical data elements that affect capital management and risk. Your work will have tangible consequences for the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with a variety of stakeholders, including IT, Model Quality Assurance (MQA), and other business units. This fosters a holistic understanding of the data landscape and builds valuable professional networks.
  • Exposure to Financial Markets and Derivatives: Gain in-depth knowledge of Front Office systems, capital metrics (like RWA), and derivatives modeling concepts. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in a complex and lucrative industry.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: Utilize advanced analytical techniques to identify and resolve complex data quality and integration issues. You'll be empowered to drive optimization and improve data quality across various banking platforms.
  • Career Growth in Data Science: This role offers a structured path for career progression within data science, with opportunities to hone skills in analytics, visualization, and data management.
  • Project Ownership: Take initiative in delivering analytics initiatives, from defining data requirements and assessing time/effort to establishing project plans. This demonstrates leadership and end-to-end project management capabilities.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Technical Proficiency is Essential: A strong command of SQL and Tableau is a fundamental requirement. While Python or other programming languages are a plus, mastery of the core tools is critical for success.
  • Analytical Acumen: The ability to perform rigorous data analysis, identify patterns, and draw actionable insights from large datasets is paramount. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are non-negotiable.
  • Attention to Detail: In financial data management, precision is key. A meticulous approach to data handling and analysis is crucial to avoid errors and ensure compliance.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: The financial landscape and regulatory environment are constantly evolving. Candidates should be comfortable picking up new concepts quickly and thinking creatively to solve emerging challenges.
  • Collaboration and Communication: While individual analytical skills are important, demonstrable team skills and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences are equally vital.
  • Understanding of Financial Concepts (Preferred): While not always mandatory, a foundational understanding of derivatives modeling concepts can provide a significant advantage in grasping the nuances of the data and its business context.
