Director of Education and Student Experience (ESE) Quality and Standards
We are looking for a Director of ESE Quality and Standards to join our Education and Student Experience team, with a passion for driving educational quality and student experience on a global scale.
About the role
Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience (PVC ESE), you will lead the embedding of high-quality, consistent Education and Student Experience (ESE) standards across our tri-campus university. Your work will have a lasting impact, enhancing the university’s performance and contributing to a world-class student journey.
This is a pivotal leadership role that operates at the intersection of quality assurance, enhancement and educational innovation. You will work in close partnership with academic and professional service units, both in the UK and on our campuses in China and Malaysia.
You will
Develop and deliver high-quality ESE aligned with the university’s Quality Manual.Lead the integration of QA, QS, and QE cycles, driving data-informed decision making.Provide strategic oversight of Educational Gains, Skills, Apprenticeships and Foundation Programmes.Foster impactful civic and global relationships to support ESE initiatives and funding opportunities.Build and maintain effective strategic partnerships across the globe.You will work jointly with the Director of ESE Enhancement to lead the ESE strategic team, creating a culture of collaboration, respect and ambition. As a key member of the ESE Senior Management Team and the wider university leadership, you will advocate for continuous improvement in the student experience and educational outcomes.

Proven senior leadership and a strong knowledge of the higher education landscape, particularly in relation to ESE quality and standards.You are strategic thinker and influencer, capable of creating a compelling vision, identifying opportunities and inspiring others to achieve shared goals.You are an inclusive and values-driven leader, demonstrating fairness, ambition, inclusivity, respect, and openness in all you do.You are confident communicator, able to engage and influence diverse audiences with clarity, purpose and empathy.You can demonstrate the ability to build relationships, establishing impactful partnerships across professional and academic services, both internally and externally.You lead with integrity and passion, encouraging high performance, personal growth and continuous learning in your teams.This role will be offered on a permanent contract. The working hours are full time 36.25h per week.
