Bilfinger UK are currently recruiting a Electrical Technicians on a Fixed Term contract, on a 2/3 rota mobilising from Aberdeen.

As a site Competent Electrical Technician, your activities will include the following:

Work within CNRI Electrical Safety Rules (SHE-PRO-348-ISSOW) and associated procedures within assigned competency level The required competency to install, maintain, test and diagnose for faults and disassemble a wide range of electrical plant and associated components to the required standard while adhering to health, safety and environmental regulations and safe working practices, and taking into account environmental and sustainability considerations. Understand the relevant legislative, regulatory requirements or procedures and safe working practices, including their responsibilities with regards to reporting lines and procedures. Understand the preparation and reinstatement requirements in respect of the work area, materials and equipment, and the possible consequences of incorrect actions in these areas. Be able to read and interpret relevant engineering drawings, related specifications, quality standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions, plans and schedules. Carry out inspection and maintenance activities on the range of HV/LV equipment in accordance with site ESR’s and levels of competency for position Maintain and report on the condition of the main Electrical SECEs i.e. Electrical Fault Protection, Emergency Power Supplies, Emergency Lighting, Ex Equipment & Navigational Aids. Report concerns or defects on electrical equipment systems to installation Responsible Electrical Person (REP), in particular defects that may impair spark potential barrier integrity Monitor the performance and serviceability of all plant electrical generation and distribution systems and equipment Understand and interpret electrical drawings and single line diagrams as part of routine planned inspections and an aid to fault finding Maintain comprehensive and detailed shift handover logs and ensure CMMS work orders are updated with work history and corrective work orders contain adequate information Ensure condition and integrity of all electrical supplies, including Temporary Equipment, Uninterruptible Power Supply, for safety and production critical systems and equipment. Carry out electrical isolation / de-isolation of plant within competency level within ESR and associated procedures Ensure authorised Permit to Work Systems are in place before commencement of work and are cleared on completion before reinstatement. Ensure condition of electrical equipment located in hazardous areas in accordance with IEC 60079 parts 10,14,& 17. Understand which tools and equipment to use, and when, and will follow relevant training, methods and techniques and quality control and safety procedures for their use. Train and mentor apprentices and trainees to develop their knowledge and competency

Key Skills / Qualifications / Competencies

Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc) Educated to HNC or equivalent standard and Evidence of completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship Authorised as Competent Electrician within Electrical Safety Rules by installation REP EN60079 CompEx Hazardous Areas Portable Appliance Testing Permit to Work, eg ISSOW Maximo
