  • Technical Expertise: This is a highly technical role, requiring significant experience in electrical installations, maintenance, and project work. You'll be responsible for complex electrical tasks and will play a crucial part in driving standardization and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • On-Call Commitment: Upon successful completion of your probation period, participation in an on-call rota will be a requirement. This ensures the continuous operation and safety of the University's estate.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Essential qualifications include City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 and Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and City & Guilds 2382-18 18th Edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. Proven experience in a multi-disciplinary environment across large estates is also a strong requirement.
  • DBS Check: Please note that this position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Candidates will need to be prepared to provide necessary documentation at the interview stage.
  • Right to Work: The University is unable to sponsor international workers for this role under the Skilled Worker route. Applicants must possess an alternative right to work in the UK.
  • Flexibility: While the core hours are set, occasional flexibility may be needed to ensure Health and Safety standards are met, particularly during seasonal requirements like winter gritting.
