Job Role: Engineering Apprentice Level 3 Location: Newport Start date: September 2025

During your apprenticeship you will undertake and work towards completing apprentice training agreement, including attending college and completing appropriate course work and examinations. College location to be agreed with successful candidate

You will assist in providing an engineering service to maintenance activities to ensure the smooth running of the ports, whilst completing your apprenticeship.

You will also:

Assist in carrying out inspection, maintenance, fault diagnostics and installation work safely in line with all current legislation and ABP guidelines. Assist with the maintenance of cranes, machinery and equipment and the maintenance of ship locks, sluices and associated equipment. Maintain the ports buildings including transit sheds and offices and maintenance and repair of workshop machinery Working on FLT’s, loading shovels and skidsteers.

Entry requirements:

5x GCSEs including English and Maths (including English L4, a Science L4, Maths L5) Please ensure you list your grades for individual subjects on your application, indicating where they are predicted grades.

Have a keen interest in engineering. Good communication skills Working at height Good time keeping/punctual
