This Trader, Equity Funding Desk position presents an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious junior trader to join a critical engine within Citi's Markets. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing the cost-efficiency of trading structures by analyzing key factors such as liquidity, tenor management, regulatory metrics, and inventory optimization. Your contributions will directly fuel the expansion of Citi's broader Prime, Delta One, and Equities businesses. By actively trading a diverse portfolio of products including Equity swaps, repos, stock loan, FX swaps, and Interest Rate swaps, you will cultivate autonomy in decision-making and refine your book management skills under the expert guidance of seasoned desk leadership.

Key Responsibilities & Career Advancement:

In this multifaceted role, you will be empowered to:

  • Drive Informed Decisions: Analyze extensive reporting data to make strategic choices on optimal trade types, structures, tenors, and sizes, honing your analytical prowess.
  • Execute and Manage Trades: Take ownership of executing new trades and managing the lifecycle of all desk products, developing a comprehensive understanding of the trading landscape.
  • Master Book Management: Be responsible for comprehensive book management, risk monitoring, P&L reporting, and executing effective hedges to mitigate crucial exposures.
  • Spearhead Strategic Projects: Lead and support impactful projects focused on enhancing processes, controls, technology, reporting, product offerings, and liquidity models, demonstrating your leadership potential.
  • Collaborate for Innovation: Partner closely with technology and quant teams to develop systematic improvements, contributing to specifications and participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Enhance Franchise Value: Liaise with Treasury to strategically manage firm resources and liquidity, and engage with Sales to anticipate client demand and foster franchise growth.
  • Uphold Ethical Standards: Demonstrate a strong commitment to risk assessment, ethical judgment, and compliance, safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets.

What You Bring to the Table:

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience within a large banking institution, ideally in a trading capacity or a treasury function with demonstrable liquidity management experience.
  • A solid understanding of how Prime and Delta One businesses operate, including their core products, inherent risks, and operational intricacies.
  • Proven ability to work with large datasets, extracting concise and actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to build and maintain relationships across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Python, VBA, Bloomberg, and Excel.
