  • Comprehensive Event Management Experience: The role offers end-to-end responsibility, covering detailed operational planning, on-the-day execution, supplier management, budget oversight, logistics, risk assessment, and stakeholder briefing. This is a fantastic opportunity to hone and demonstrate a broad range of event management skills.
  • Collaboration and Influence: You will work closely with diverse teams across Academic Registry, the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, and the wider Events & Ceremonies team, fostering strong working relationships and gaining valuable insights into university operations.
  • Career Development: Beyond the immediate delivery of the 2026 ceremonies, you'll contribute to shaping future events, providing a platform for continuous improvement and strategic input.
  • Team Environment: You will join a friendly and experienced team that manages a variety of university events, offering a supportive and dynamic work environment.
  • Prestigious University Setting: The University of Bath boasts a strong global and national reputation, a beautiful campus, and a vibrant city location, offering an excellent quality of life and professional setting.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: The University offers a robust benefits package including professional development opportunities, generous annual leave, wellbeing services, and financial support for relocation and immigration, demonstrating a commitment to staff welfare and growth.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

  • Fixed-Term Contract: This role is offered on a fixed-term basis from February 2026 to September 2026. Candidates should ensure this aligns with their career aspirations and availability.
  • Intensive Delivery Period: The primary focus is the successful execution of the July 2026 graduation events. This will require a dedicated and focused effort during this critical period.
  • Flexibility Required: Occasional evening and weekend work will be necessary during the event periods, with Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) provided.
  • Experience Level: The role demands significant experience in planning and delivering large, complex, or high-profile events, ideally within a higher education or similar institutional setting. Strong project management and stakeholder management skills are essential.
  • Budget and Team Management: Proven success in managing budgets and event teams is a core requirement.
  • Customer-Focused Approach: A commitment to delivering a professional, seamless, and sensitive experience for all attendees is crucial.
