Fabrication Welder

Job Title: Fabrication Welder Location: Burton Factory Work-Level: F3 Shift – Days JOB PURPOSE We are looking for a skilled fabrication welder to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in producing, modifying, and repairing pipework, tools and production equipment used in the manufacturing process, with a specialization in welding machines. The candidate should be able to work with a variety of materials including metals, alloys, and plastics. They should be proficient in using hand tools such as files, hacksaws, and grinders to measure and mark out the design for the tool. They should also be able to use machinery such as presses, milling machines, and grinders to cut and shape the tools. The candidate must have experience in stainless steel and food safe welding. They need to be able to read and understand 2D and 3D computer-aided drawings. Performing design in 2D and 3D in AutoCAD is a plus. They should be able to use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and vernier calipers to check the tool dimensions. The candidate should have experience monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements. They should be proficient in computer (windows based), able to manage documentation, and compile reports on their work. He must be self motivated and able to work on his own. ALL ABOUT YOU Recognised Apprenticeship (multi-skilled/cross skilled specific preferable) Minimum level 2 apprenticeship in relevant produce and maintain components, tooling, and use of tooling equipment (or equivalent other qualifications relevant to this position Experience of working within Engineering in an FMCG food environment. Good Mechanical skill set. Coded welder in TIG/MAG or previously coded welder certification Strong team player who adopts a continuous improvement approach. Computer literate.
