Lidl GB is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Consultant to join its Facilities Management department. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to shape the strategic direction of building technologies within a leading retail organisation. If you are passionate about innovation, digitisation, and making a tangible impact, this role offers a compelling platform for career advancement.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Competitive Remuneration and Benefits: Earn between £57,200 and £79,200 per annum, complemented by a generous 35 days of holiday (pro rata), a significant 10% in-store discount, and a robust pension scheme. A London weighting of 10% is also included.
  • Hybrid Working Model: Embrace a flexible work-life balance with a hybrid model, allowing you to spend at least three days at our state-of-the-art office, featuring amenities like an on-site gym and restaurant, with up to two days working from home.
  • Strategic Impact: Play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the digitisation, connectivity, IoT, and online controls strategy for major building technologies across Lidl GB and the wider Schwarz Group.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams, including Facilities Management, IT, Procurement, and Store Operations, both domestically and internationally.

  • Professional Growth: Gain invaluable experience in full lifecycle management of IoT devices and processes, project management, stakeholder engagement at all levels, and supplier selection.
  • Empowerment and Influence: Lead projects from concept to completion, including financial planning and risk management, with opportunities to present strategies up to Board level.
  • Commitment to DEI: Lidl values diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a respectful and welcoming environment for all applicants.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Technical Expertise: The role requires a solid understanding of IoT connectivity standards (e.g., LoRaWAN, GSM/LTE, Wi-Fi), building automation protocols (BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU), IT networking, cyber security, and building management systems. Experience with low-code solutions and automation is also a significant advantage.
  • Strategic Vision: Candidates should possess the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the capacity to develop data-driven KPIs for informed decision-making.
  • Project Management Acumen: Proven experience in leading and delivering complex projects, including financial planning, risk management, and milestone achievement, is essential. Excellent organisational and time management skills are paramount.
  • Stakeholder Management: The ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior management across different departments and international entities, is crucial.
  • Proactive and Adaptable: A proactive, motivated, and driven attitude, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for acquiring proficiency in new technical topics and emerging technologies, will be key to success.
  • Mobility: A full, valid driving license is required, along with a willingness to travel within GB and internationally, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Urgency: Due to the high volume of applications received, vacancies may close earlier than advertised. Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
