Location – North West – Field Based
As a Field Service Engineer at RS, you will create value for external customers by offering best in class condition monitoring solutions. You will identify customer critical assets, appropriate leading indicators of failure and appropriate CM techniques to monitor these. You will work with other stake holders both in Technical and in Field Sales to identify opportunities to expand our offer with the customer.
Working closely with sales and customers to understand customer needs and look for ways to meet these through existing and new capability and create best in class customer experience with regards to technical support.
What you will be doing:
Deliver best in class multi-technology condition monitoring solution to the customer. Be a Subject Matter expert in a range of CM techniques. Be the ‘go to’ person for specific technologies and be seen as the Subject Matter Expert by RS, its customers and suppliers. Maintain the customer Critical Assets and Technology Selection (CATS) survey where applicable. As required, support sales activity such as: site visits, joint visits with Account Managers, support trade shows. Work with suppliers to develop own expertise to that of Subject Matter Expert in aligned technologies. Support the rest of the technical function’s knowledge in aligned product group to that of proficient level, i.e. a good understanding of RS Offer and can articulate the meaning of key attributes and can specify products based on customer needs. Build excellent customer relationships to ensure contract longevity. Familiarity with the broader RS value proposition. Identify sales opportunities and work with sales teams to deliver. CM, 1st line maintenance and lubrication service delivery.
What do I need to be successful?
If you have the following skills and experience, we want to hear from you:
Higher qualification in an electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering discipline. Essential ONC, or equivalent in. Desirable HNC / Degree or equivalent. VA1/2 3-5 years CM experience IR Thermography and Ultrasound experience. Experience working in either a manufacturing or maintenance environment with strong technical knowledge. Possesses a growth mind-set with a strong desire to continually self-develop. Curious and Innovative, always looking for new and different solutions to customer needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and customer focused, understanding the needs of providing high levels of customer service and satisfaction. Demonstrate commercial acumen by identifying and acting upon buying signals to maximize and capture all sales opportunities. An understanding of broader reliability theory would be advantageous.
