At Serco, we’re seeking a part-time Forensic Psychologist to join our team at HMP Doncaster, a Category B male establishment in South Yorkshire, where you’ll contribute to innovative approaches and play a key role in delivering quality psychological services to people in prison.
Make an impact at Serco In this important role, you’ll take responsibility for delivering comprehensive psychological assessments, contributing to the development of intervention strategies, and providing expert consultancy to staff. You will work collaboratively with the prison’s multidisciplinary team to improve the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners back into society, reducing re-offending and enhancing prisoner wellbeing. Your role will also include overseeing the work of Forensic Psychologists in Training (FPiTs), ensuring that all work is compliant with professional codes and guidelines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting psychological assessments including HCR-20, RSVP, SARA, and WAIS Acting as a professional witness at Parole hearings Supporting the delivery of accredited programmes, including supervision and clinical decision-making Providing consultancy to staff on issues related to the OPD pathway and Safer Custody Developing and delivering essential training packages to staff

What you’ll need
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Experience working with offenders and conducting psychological assessments and interventions HCPC registration (or be within six months of obtaining it) A Stage 2 Diploma in Forensic Psychology with the BPS OR A Stage 1 and be close to completing Stage 2 Knowledge of psychological theory related to the treatment of violent and sexual offending Comfortable completing parole reports and risk assessments such as WAIS, HCR-20, RSVP, and SARA
Desirable (but not essential)
Registration with the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAAPS) Experience in group psychotherapy or psychotherapeutic treatment approaches
