The Role: Head of Catering & Supply Chain

We are looking for an ambitious and proven leader to join our team in an exciting new role as Head of Catering & Supply Chain. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring  innovation to craft and deliver the British Airways premium hospitality proposition. You'll use your expertise in catering strategy to source quality products through the supply chain , understand and delight  our customers.  This role will report into the Director of Customer Experience.

What you’ll do:

Oversee the management and delivery of British Airways' hospitality proposition, including food, menu development,  beverages, onboard catering, and retail. Lead and inspire a team of c.80 managers Evolve the hospitality offering using customer insights to drive innovation, sustainability, and differentiated experiences across all travel classes. Contribute to the development of the Customer Experience financial plan and ensure stringent control of all operational and capital expenditure. Drive revenue growth through a robust retail and product offering. Implement a category-based sourcing strategy, bringing to bear data analytics and the wider IAG supply chain to negotiate long-term commercial partnerships. Lead teams of experts and a network of suppliers to achieve operational performance metrics, focusing on NPS and punctuality. Ensure outstanding quality management by embedding the BA Better World and British Airways risk framework. Transform the inflight customer experience by introducing and improving technologies and processes. Maintain an operational framework that includes just-in-time practices, quality management, and inventory control, ensuring efficient distribution from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and global hubs. Provide mentorship and build a strong, empowered culture where colleagues thrive.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

Extensive experience of leading airline catering (desirable) and/or hospitality/transportation/retail product development and supply chain logistics Financially astute with experience of managing significant operating budgets Contract negotiation experience, working knowledge of catering operations, product development and procurement practices. Appreciation of the customer service environment and culture at both a premium and non-premium level
