Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas:

This position, reporting to the Deputy Director of HR with a professional link to the Head of Health and Safety, involves a broad spectrum of responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive Health and Safety strategies.
  • Ensuring a proactive, inclusive, and legally compliant approach to staff wellbeing.
  • Managing and advising on critical areas like Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments, Occupational Health, travel and stress risk assessments, and infectious disease surveillance.
  • Collaborating with HR on staff wellbeing provision, initiatives, and training.

What We're Looking For in a Candidate:

We are seeking an individual who embodies a proactive and inclusive approach to health and safety. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively:

  • Develop comprehensive reports, spreadsheets, and other analytical documentation.
  • Communicate complex health and safety information to diverse populations within the university.
  • Champion a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing amongst staff.

Important Considerations for Your Application:

  • Eligibility to Work: Candidates must demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Salary and Grade: The salary for this position ranges from £42,609 to £51,525 per annum. Appointments are typically made at the minimum point of the grade.
  • DBS Check: An Enhanced DBS Certificate will be required upon appointment.
