The Opportunity

Vestas is seeking a talented Process Engineer to join their Blades Infusion Engineering department. This team is integral to the company's mission, overseeing the entire infusion process for wind turbine blades. You will play a crucial role in:

  • Enhancing Innovation: Directly contribute to improving manufacturing processes with a keen focus on infusion operations.
  • Material Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of composite materials such as fiberglass and epoxy resins, essential for high-performance blade production.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze current and future states of infusion processes, defining critical process and material requirements to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Global Standardization: Support the industrialization and standardization of processes across Vestas manufacturing sites, impacting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage digital data analytics to identify performance improvements and make informed, strategic choices.
  • Problem Solving: Apply rigorous problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA) to effectively resolve production challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), to foster a culture of ongoing enhancement.

  • Familiarity and practical application of Lean and Six Sigma tools for optimization and standardization.
  • A comprehensive understanding of composite materials, including fiberglass and epoxy resins, as well as other materials used in blade production.
  • Advanced skills in process design and optimization, particularly in blade infusion and general manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to use structured problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • A self-motivated, results-oriented attitude, coupled with strong collaborative and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to be actively involved in factory environments to understand and resolve production challenges.
