Lead Developer .Net

This is an 18-month fixed-term role

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Engineer to join a .NET focused team. Are you an enthusiastic and driven individual with a desire to be part of team delivering high-quality IT solutions to support a range of business-critical systems?

You will be part of a team taking a lead role in the delivery and support  of services that underpin a range of business critical activities and projects for our Digital Education Service as we undertake an 18 month change programme. This will focus on developing and supporting applications in .Net Core / C# (LTS currently 8) and SQL Server. Over the period March 2025 to December 2026 the University is replacing its Media Enhanced Learning (MEL) platform and implementing the associated business change necessary to embed robust ways of working that support the University’s teaching and learning vision, you will be taking the lead role in liaising with key stakeholders from multiple faculties and departments to understand needs and ensure the smooth delivery of this platform. 

You will use your skills, knowledge and experience to develop and maintain .Net Core applications using C# and providing high quality solutions in accordance with IT change management principles.  

In order to be successful in the role you will have knowledge of maintaining SQL Server T-SQL, and proven experience of analysing and diagnosing issues in .Net Applications (Console apps, Azure Functions, Web APIs and MVC Web Apps). You will also possess excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills that will be utilised when working with a wide range of IT colleagues and users.
