This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a cleaner, more secure energy future while advancing your career in a dynamic and impactful sector.

This role offers a competitive salary range of £61,620 - £72,592, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your financial wellbeing, personal health, and family needs. With permanent, full-time positions available and flexible working options, SSEN Distribution prioritizes a healthy work-life balance for its employees.

Key Advantages for Potential Candidates:

  • Impactful Contribution: Directly contribute to the UK's Net Zero ambitions by managing projects that modernize critical energy infrastructure. Your work will have a tangible positive effect on the environment and future generations.
  • Career Growth & Development: Gain invaluable experience managing complex construction projects within the electricity distribution sector. Opportunities to work with a dedicated project management team and various stakeholders offer continuous learning and skill enhancement.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Beyond a strong salary, enjoy a wealth of benefits including discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships, a free online GP, 24/7 counselling services, and financial support through interest-free loans for tech and transport. Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Experience Requirements: A proven track record in managing construction projects, specifically involving substation works up to 132kV (with a mandatory 33kV component), is essential. Familiarity with contract management, particularly NEC3 contracts, and the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) will be highly beneficial.
  • Educational Background: While an engineering qualification is preferred, a recognised qualification in construction safety and project management would be advantageous and can significantly strengthen your application.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: This role demands exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You will be adept at engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, from internal teams to external customers and local authorities, ensuring seamless project progression.
  • Problem-Solving and Resilience: The ability to tackle complex issues, think critically, and thrive under pressure are vital attributes for success in this demanding yet rewarding position.
