Key Advantages for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Impactful Career: Be at the forefront of a company actively investing in a sustainable future, with a tangible contribution to net-zero ambitions.
  • Flexible & Supportive Environment: Work in a permanent, full-time capacity with flexible working options available, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Competitive Remuneration & Benefits: Earn between £34,749 - £40,939, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your family, finances, and overall wellbeing. This includes discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships, wellbeing services like a free online GP and counselling, and attractive financial support schemes.
  • Diverse Locations: Opportunities are available in strategically important Scottish cities: Inverness, Perth, Glasgow, or Aberdeen.
  • Professional Development: Gain invaluable experience in project documentation, stakeholder management, and data migration within a dynamic and expanding directorate. The role emphasizes continuous learning and adaptation to new IT systems.

What This Opportunity Entails:

As a Project Information Officer, you will be the linchpin in managing and controlling project and business documentation across a diverse portfolio of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a technical expert in document control, supporting projects from inception to completion.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders, including contractors.
  • Overseeing project milestones and deadlines, proactively mitigating risks.
  • Participating in crucial audits to ensure the integrity of project and system records.
  • Playing a key role in data cleansing and migration initiatives, bringing historical data into the current system.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Essential Experience: A proven track record in handling external deliverables, engaging with contractors, managing project interfaces, and leading project closeouts including record handover and archiving is crucial.
  • IT Proficiency: The ability to quickly learn and master new IT software is paramount. Experience with company-standard document management systems is expected.
  • Desirable Skills: While not mandatory, previous experience as a System Administrator in Autodesk Construction Cloud would be a significant advantage, demonstrating advanced proficiency.

  • Exceptional Soft Skills: Your excellent communication skills, outstanding organisational abilities, strong customer relationship skills, and exceptional attention to detail will be key to your success.

This role is ideal for an individual who is detail-oriented, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and is eager to contribute to the growth and success of SSE Transmission as it navigates the energy transition. If you are looking for a role that combines technical expertise with strategic impact, this opportunity is for you.
