The Universities of Bath and Plymouth have collaborated with NHS England to establish a new School of Pharmacy located at the University of Plymouth.

The highly successful Bath MPharm is now being delivered on site in new purpose-built facilities at the University of Plymouth campus, with the first cohort of students in September 2024. This venture is strongly supported by the wider pharmacy community and represents a major step forward in supporting the pharmacy workforce in the southwest of England. In September 2025, we will welcome a new cohort of Year 1 students, as well as a first cohort of Preparatory year (foundation year) students.

We are recruiting staff who will be located primarily in Plymouth but employed by the University of Bath, supporting delivery of this new MPharm degree.

About the role:

We are recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer post (teaching-focussed) to be part of the Plymouth-based MPharm teaching team. You will provide high quality teaching and assessment on this new MPharm degree course, support individual learners and contribute to the successful delivery of this new school of pharmacy. You will be an excellent teacher and have a collegiate approach to working with academic and professional services colleagues. You will be joining a small but dynamic team based in Plymouth and will be expected to collaborate with colleagues at the University of Bath.

The University are willing to show flexibility in working practices and so applications from suitably qualified candidates seeking a role which offers hybrid working, full or part time working, job sharing and other forms of flexible employment are welcome. Please note, while the roles will be mainly based out of Plymouth, occasional travel to the Bath will be required.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take up the role in August or September 2025.
