Our School of Veterinary Medicine follows an innovative distributed teaching model. It aims to inspire and educate veterinary professionals who will advance veterinary medicine to meet the needs of a changing world. Our research aims to advance knowledge in all aspects of veterinary medicine and education. 

The role

This role will allow you to share your enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience with veterinary undergraduates and post-graduates in the area of production animal practice. You will be participating in all types of teaching activities and assessments, especially with regard to production animal species.

Discipline specific clinical research will be expected and encouraged; this will include grant writing, PhD supervision and other research related activities.

About you

All candidates must hold a veterinary degree and it is desirable that you are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS/FRCVS). Candidates will have demonstrable clinical experience and practical competencies in production animal practice and knowledge of UK/EU clinical and industry practice would be an advantage.  

Teaching experience and/or qualification is desirable, but you will be supported with gaining the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching/Higher Education. Candidates will require a PhD.

Induction Commitment

We wish to create the conditions for success for our new starters in the Vet School, by facilitating their growth and development within our institution. All new starters who are on a local/Guildford contract are expected to be physically present on campus for 80% minimum of their working week during their initial four to six months of employment (the duration will vary depending on individual role).
