Discover more about our company wide benefits and life at GSK on our webpage Life at GSK | GSK As a Site Automated Visual Inspection and Leak Detection Lead you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the project portfolio, including development and validation of both inspection and leak detection equipment. Development of manual visual inspection processes including the training and qualification of manual visual inspectors. In this role you will… Act as SME for all issues associated with visual inspection and leak detection interacting closely with all areas of the organisation to provide expertise within this area, including the management of on-site and central stakeholders from technical, quality and supply arenas Lead the design, development, and implementation of visual inspection standards for parenteral products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Have a thorough knowledge of the MVI, AVI and LD processes and equipment and how the processes interact with the other operations on site. Maintain knowledge of new technology and best practices for visual inspection and leak detection to ensure the most effective technology is employed for AVI/ LD at Barnard Castle. Prepare written reports and communicate project progress to a wide variety of individuals both internally and externally They must have the technical competency to ensure technical skill development in modern and emerging inspection and leak detection technology as it relates to the pharma industry. Proactively develop technical skill base of the BC MSAT Inspection team maintaining current competency with regulatory standards and new technologies, through coaching, mentoring, and support succession planning and recruitment. Develop and deliver training programs for quality inspectors, operators, and other relevant staff, focusing on the visual inspection of parenteral products and adherence to GMP requirements. Explore and evaluate new technologies and methodologies in visual inspection, including AI, to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Identify opportunities for process automation, working closely with engineering teams to implement new tools and technologies. Skilled and well-practiced in the problem-solving methods deployed within GMS and have a good practical understanding of when and how to use them eg RCA, FMEA, Gemba, 5-Why, DMAIC Continually monitor and evaluate process capabilities using data from multiple sources to define appropriate action plans that continually enhance inspection technical process capability for the whole site, including product life cycle management. Why you?  Basic Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering discipline Experience with automated inspection systems and/or artificial intelligence for quality control is a plus Training in Problem Solving techniques such as DMAIC Experienced in Technology Transfer with an understanding of GMS's sites and network capabilities Experience in inspection technology methodologies for sterile products Formal or technical leadership experience.
