About the role.

Working at our Bread site based in Barton, the successful candidate will have previous electrical and mechanical experience within manufacturing and a solid background in Health & Safety. You will be highly competent in electrical fault finding and analysis and provide engineering support to production to ensure the efficient performance of all equipment. What we do.

We’re the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry - supplying meals, salads, desserts, pizza and bread to leading grocery retailers including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. This particular role is at our Bakkavor Bread site based in Barton-Upon-Humber, close to the Humber Bridge. This factory specialises in making chilled speciality baguettes at high volumes and employs over 150 people. This site is located 14 miles from Hull, 16 miles from Scunthorpe and 24 miles from Grimsby.

About the role.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join the busy and active team at our food manufacturing facility in Barton Upon Humber. You will manage a team of shift Engineers whilst helping maintain, install and improve the performance of processing equipment across the Bakkavor Barton Bread site.

Accountabilities:

Conduct planned and predictive maintenance of processing and packaging assets Respond to breakdowns Identify faults (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and pneumatics) and action as required Lead or support operational teams with machinery change overs and set ups Manufacture and repair component parts for machinery Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise assets or processes Ensure that all H&S procedures, engineering best practice are adhered to at all times Accurate & timely records are entered and recorded on all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares/consumables used

About you.

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent Recognised Engineering qualification Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Flexible working attitude Competent electrical / fault finding & analysis skills Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) Methodical & strong attention to detail
