Applications are invited for the post of Medical Device Prototyping Technician within the Aston University’s Department of Mechanical, Biomedical and Design Engineering. We are seeking a Technician to maintain, provision and run the equipment involved in prototyping of medical devices needed for support of SMEs (including additive manufacturing and 3D anatomical modelling) using Aston know-how and resource. As the successful candidate you should demonstrate the ability to use the equipment and carry out prototyping jobs for all stakeholders engaged through this programme.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with expertise in 3D printing (pre and post processing), and lab management expertise.
Applicants must have a degree, HNC, HND or equivalent C&G qualification in an engineering/design discipline.
At Technician level, we seek a candidate to contribute to Aston’s research activities. In particular, you will be integrated in a unique platform of researchers to accelerate the translation of innovations through clinical and commercial impact initiatives. This new post is seen as vital in allowing us to pursue innovation in biomedical research and very significant opportunities exist for the correct candidate to grow within the University.
You will work in the Design Factory as part of the team to achieve the goals of the project reporting to the Design Factory management team.
