Introduction to Role:

Join us as a Medical Science Liaison in our Oncology Business Unit, where you'll be an ambassador for AstraZenecas Oncology portfolio. You'll engage in scientific exchange with Key External Experts, Health Care Professionals, and Clinical Investigators, identifying medical unmet needs and evidence gaps in our product portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to leverage skills from across the business to go further and join a cross-functional team, working together and sharing knowledge across teams, roles and levels.

Accountabilities:

As a regional field medical affairs expert, you'll share knowledge and insight with cross-functional colleagues, support research discussions with clinical leaders in your dedicated region and engage in account level cross-functional working with sales and market access colleagues. You'll maintain an understanding of local health economy and how that interacts with the patient pathways relevant to the Breast Cancer therapy area. You'll also own relationships and partnerships with priority KEEs and support KEE professional development.

Essential Skills/Experience:

Life sciences degree or other appropriate qualification (e.g. nursing, pharmacy)Clinical, scientific or life sciences background – within OncologyExperience identifying opportunities for service redesign and care transformation: ability to assess clinical pathways and operational workflows, service improvement opportunities, and contribute to co-creation with stakeholders to inform actionable change proposals that improve access, efficiency, or patient outcomes in oncology settings.Communication and presentation skillsBusiness insight/entrepreneurship; seek out opportunities and new ways of workingUnderstanding of evidence-based medicine and its application into clinical practiceUnderstanding of ABPI Code of Practice and its practical application

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Previous experience working within a Medical Science Liaison role within Pharma (Ideally within Oncology or NHS Cancer experience)Higher degree in science or business subjectExperience in the development of clinical trial programmes in the support of the therapy area portfolio an advantageExperience of account managementKnowledge +/- experience of real-world data projects
