Job Description: Network Engineer Hybrid â 2-3 days onsite per week Location: Cromwell Hospital (SW5 0TU) Permanent - Full time 37.5hours Salary range: £65,000+ (Depending on experience) on-call rota: There will be a requirement to participate in the on-call rota for out of hours support which is compensated. The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing the network infrastructure at Cromwell Hospital, ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of all IT systems across the organisation. How youâll help us make health happen: Lead and manage Cromwell network infrastructure, identifying improvements and reporting on network health. Hands-on experience with Palo Alto SASE environments. Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, Next-Gen networking, and connectivity principles. Proficient in Cisco routing, switching, and Wireless LAN technologies. Design and implement network solutions aligned with organisational needs. Install and configure network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability. Diagnose and resolve network hardware and software issues. Collaborate with IT teams to implement robust network security measures. Perform routine maintenance and updates on network systems. Maintain clear documentation of network configurations and procedures. Provide technical support and knowledge sharing to team members. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Proven expertise in network engineering roles within complex IT environments. CCNP certification or equivalent level of technical proficiency. Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and infrastructure. Familiarity with Palo Alto solutions, including SASE architecture. Solid understanding of enterprise network design and best practices. Experience with Cisco Switches, Routers, DNA Center, ISE, and wireless infrastructure. Proficient in Remote Access VPNs, IPSEC, TCP/IP, and authentication protocols. Desirable: Experience managing and configuring Cisco CUCM (Call Manager).
