Job Title: Oral Care Future Chassis Leader Location: Port Sunlight Research Lab (very occasional travel to India or Italy may be required)) Work-Level: WL2C Reports to: Oral Care DCL & OC Materials + Chassis Design Global JOB PURPOSE The Oral Care category strives to bring healthy teeth and beautiful Smiles to 1 billion consumers every day. The future Chassis Leader will be responsible for leading identification and development of innovative and future facing formulations, materials and processing for Oral Care. The ideal candidate will have a strong science background and experience in oral care with a record of successful innovation identification and programme management. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead identification and development of step change technologies that will deliver future facing chassis and sensory for Oral Care. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals, with a strong focus on accountability, rigor, and risk management. Collaborate closely with S&T and Design to develop and transfer technology, formulations and innovative processes to achieve market realisation. Partner with academics and suppliers to identify and deliver novel technologies, formulations and process insights. Communicate complex scientific and technology concepts to a diverse range of R&D and marketing stakeholders. Manage and maintain an Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, ensuring robust protection of innovations. Apply experimental design principles, digital tools and statistical analysis to guide programme direction and decision making. ALL ABOUT YOU PhD in Chemistry, or a related physical sciences discipline. Very preferably, experience of technology identification and development for Oral Care products. Understanding of oral care formulation, processing principles, active benefits and regulatory landscape is preferred. Knowledge of colloid science, complex fluids and processing relevant to toothpastes. Examples of impactful collaborations with academia and supplier partners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and work effectively in a cross functional and global team environment. Strong project management skills, able to hold cross-functional teams accountable to achieve project goals. Experience in IP management and maintaining an IP portfolio. Record of external scientific publications and authority is preferred. Competencies/SOLs Passion for high performance, generates intensity and focus to motivate individuals and teams.
