Become a PASS Leader
We are looking for students to be part of our growing PASS scheme here at the University of Sunderland. If you’re looking for a term-time opportunity to get paid whilst helping out other students and developing a great range of employability skills that will look great on your CV then this may just be the role for you!
PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) Leaders are trained to plan and resource weekly hour-long study sessions that encourage group discussion, aid students in deepening their understanding of their course content and giving them an opportunity to ask questions and meet other people on their course. You will also have weekly debriefs with PASS Supervisors and Senior Leaders to help you make the most of your sessions and provide feedback.
This is a paid role in line with National Living Wage with a minimum of 2.5 hours per week of teaching (1 hour planning time, 1 hour for delivery of the session and 30 minutes to attend an online debrief) and occasional additional training throughout the year. All PASS session delivery and training will be held between 9-5 on weekdays during term time so you will need to be available at these times.
You will also be required to attend paid training sessions in person on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th September 2025.
There may also be occasional extra paid duties throughout the year such as supplementary training, induction week introductions etc.
