The role

As a Planning and Scheduling Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of supporting the UK’s submarine capability by managing Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) projects that are critical to the safety and effectiveness of our naval operations.

Day-to-day, you’ll use your project planning/management skills to contribute to a varied workload within the submarine realm.

Manage newly purchased and refurbishment GFE projects, coordinating stakeholders across the business Support key project aspects including safety, scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources Report data, update strategic schedules, and develop reliable forecasts Develop and implement KPIs, BI reports, and efficient GFE handling processes Line manage the GFE Project Assistant and deputise for the GFE Project Manager

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Project Planning and Scheduling Manager

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships Experience in project management techniques and managing large budgets Understanding of tender assessment and supply chain management Ability to prioritise and balance resources across multiple work packages Strong organisational, communication, and report writing skills

Qualifications for the Project Planning and Scheduling Manager

APM Project Foundation Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent qualification in project management is desired
