We are looking for a skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a recently awarded AIME grant. The aim of this project is to isolate nuclei from human model cell lines and perform biophysical and biochemical analyses of the nucleus and nuclear membrane in response to p97 inhibitor.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in membrane biology. The main focus will be on generating a robust method to isolate nuclei from human cells. Following this, we will perform dynamic light scattering and flow cytometry to analyse whole nuclei, perform membrane fluidity assays and extract segments of the nuclear membrane with co-polymers to analyse through mass spectrometry. An ability to apply knowledge and learn new techniques quickly is highly desirable and full training will be given as needed.
The post is available for a fixed term of 12 months with an ideal start date in November 2024.
