An opportunity to play your part: At British Gas Energy, we're looking for a Principal (AWS) Engineer who sets the highest technical standards and brings a passion for innovation. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our fast-moving projects, leading the charge as we transition both customers and agents to a cutting-edge cloud-based platform. With a dynamic team spread across 10 squads, you'll encounter a wide variety of work and exciting new challenges every day. You will develop and support new talent, motivating and challenging a team of experienced developers. Your expertise will be crucial in providing point solutions and offering technical guidance on strategic Salesforce designs and proposals. Location: UK, Windsor (talk to us about flexible working) About you: Recognised as an expert across a wide range of AWS services Ability to build, design, and develop high-quality software in various coding languages, both front-end and back-end (full stack) Leadership skills to build and motivate a talented team of software professionals, leading by example Capability to set technical direction with the team and stakeholders, up to board level Proficiency in maintaining clear and comprehensive architecture documentation for internal and external service consumers Expertise in designing efficient, secure, "well-architected" solutions Openness to share knowledge and support new talent within the company Commitment to delivering high-quality code (Node, TypeScript, React, ReactN, Terraform, and others) Dedication to supporting and driving quality through CI/CD, automation, and code reviews Optional exposure to Salesforce Commitment to staying up-to-date with certifications What's in it for you?
